EPC is a wholly–owned subsidiary of Edward Billington & Son Ltd. A private family company based in Liverpool and established for over 150 years. EPC was acquired by the group in 1998. In 2004 it moved to purpose-built facilities in Newbury having grown as a key supplier of branded and private label products for most of the UK’s major food retailers.

In 2004 it also acquired Suffolk Foods, a successful supplier of mayonnaise and sauces into the food manufacturing sector, and the business was integrated into the EPC site, adding scale, new process expertise and a wider customer base to the mix.

In 2007 the parent company acquired Alembic Products Ltd. of Chester: another successful sauces producer and this has now also been integrated into the EPC business. The main trading site is in Newbury but the Chester site provides a key role as a producer of specialist products.
